The Essential Oil Flu Bomb

Flu Shot or Not?

Let me begin by firmly stating that I believe traditional Western medicine absolutely has it's place, after all I am a logically-minded lawyer. :-) Yes, I sure was glad for modern medicine when my appendix was about to rupture a few years ago but I also strongly believe that there are things each of us can do to get well and stay well -- things that God, Mother Nature, the Earth, whatever your preferred deity is, have provided for us.  Below is one of the most popular posts on MiracleOils blog... Enjoy!

The essential oil flu bomb -- it really, really works!! A more natural alternative to the flu shot:

3 drops Oregano
5 drops On Guard
5 drops Melaleuca
5 drops Lemon

If you feel like you are starting to come down with a cold or a flu, put these oils in an empty gel capsule and take internally. Repeat every 3-4 hours until you feel better again.

My husband and I have been using this recipe, and found that it stopped our flu / cold in its tracks. My mother-in-law swears that it helped with her nasty flu as well.

Flu bomb recipe 2:

My friend and colleague, Jaime, has used the following combination with great success. Combine the following ingredients in a capsule. Take every 4 hours (except while sleeping).

3 drops peppermint
2 drops oregano
2 drops frankincense
2 drops On Guard

Right before bed, she added 2 drops of lime to the mixture because lime is good for suppressing a cough.
This combination worked effectively, and she experienced an instant uplift after taking the capsules, likely due to the peppermint.

Especially For Young Children:

Dilute 1-2 drops of thyme or lemon in 2 tablespoons of carrier oil (e.g., olive oil, fractionated coconut oil) and massage a little on their neck and chest; and
Put oregano, melaleuca and OnGuard oils on their feet (1 drop of each and apply every 2-3 hours).
You can also can add 2 to 3 drops of On Guard and 2 drops Lemon essential oil to a teaspoon of honey for cold or cough relief medicine for older children.
We've been putting 1 drop of On Guard and 1 drop of Melaleuca (in addition to some other oils, like Breathe, Frankincense and Balance) on my six year old son's feet twice a day as a preventative measure since his body's immune system needs extra support.

Emotional Healing with doTERRA Essential Oils

I'm thrilled to share information from a fantastic post on miracleoils.ca as well as the link to an insightful presentation by Daniel McDonald about emotional and spiritual healing with doTERRA essential oils (link to video here).

Daniel McDonald is the author of the book, Emotional Healing with Essential Oils (link to purchase here), which I highly recommend.  He teaches about how essential oils not only heal on a physical level, but they also have the ability to heal on emotional and spiritual levels as well.  Essential oils vibrate at a higher energy than the human body and help to increase one's vibrational level.

Healing the whole Self: body, mind and remembering our connection with Spirit is consistent with many people's personal spiritual views and I'm grateful to be able to share what essential oils can do to help with this process.

According to Daniel McDonald, there are 5 stages of healing which take place in just about every circumstance:

1. Physical healing

2. Healing the heart

3. Releasing limiting beliefs

4. Increase spiritual awareness and connection

5. Inspire the fulfillment of our life's purpose

As we use essential oils to heal our physical bodies and ailments, an emotional and  spiritual healing can occur as well. Our bodies are being allowed to completely heal from the inside out, which differs from the medical healing that only addresses symptoms and doesn't always cure the source of our physical ailments.

Some examples of how essential oils can help with emotional healing that is covered in the presentation include:

Bergamot
- helps with self-worth.

Cypress
- supports individuals who are stuck or stagnant in life.

Wild Orange
- "oil of abundance" - supports the right brain (i.e., the creative brain); activates creativity.
- place it on the left side of the body.

Clove – “The Oil of Boundaries”

“Clove is especially helpful in breaking free of patterns of abuse by restoring the victim’s sense of self and helping them regain the strength to stand up for their needs.  Clove insists that we live true to ourselves and the Divine by establishing clear boundaries.”

Cilantro — “The Oil of Loyalty & Release”

Similar to Coriander essential oil, Cilantro oil invites us to live true to ourselves. Cilantro has powerful emotional-cleansing properties, which assist us in the process of “releasing.” It also assists us in shedding whatever is not in harmony with the True Self. By releasing what is incongruent, Cilantro encourages us to listen and follow our inner guidance.

OnGuard Blend –  “The Oil of Protection”

OnGuard protects us from harmful energies and influences. This blends protective qualities extend beyond the physical level by aiding us in warding off unhealthy connections such as: co-dependency, parasitic relationships, or negative “group thought.”

Thyme – “The Oil of Releasing & Forgiving”

Thyme empties the heart of negativity by cleansing feelings of anger and resentment. It increases our tolerance and patience for others. Thyme restores the wounded heart to its natural state of love and forgiveness.

Zendocrine Blend – “The Oil of Transition”

Zendocrine assists us in letting go of patterns or issues that no longer serve us. It is incredibly helpful when we want to make a serious change in lifestyle or break a bad habit.

Excerpt from Cherie Burton's website "Stand.Speak.Shine."

Cherie writes...

"This time of year, our souls beg to be examined, nurtured and validated.  In essence, fed.
In 2006, I crafted my first version of Permission to Shine (which at that time was subtitled, “The Art of Being Beautiful”) with a burning in my heart to give good women the go-ahead to beautify and nurture their souls and their bodies.  In that nurturance, they ignite their true essence and inspire everyone around them.  Most importantly, their families.

Permission to Shine has gone through a few revisions, culminating in this latest version – 10 Keys to Becoming Who You Were Born to Be.  I have thrown my heart into its production and feel complete with what it offers.  I believe it is soul food, but further – inspires a divine call to action.  My aim was create a message that, by listening, would compel a woman to take steps NOW to become who she really wants to be.  And change her corner of the world.

It’s about beauty.  It’s about confidence.  It’s about spirituality and purpose and shine factor.  The real kind."
